Artistic, Bold and Tropical Flowers for Queer Wedding at Walden
There’s nothing like a vibrant, early spring wedding to defrost from Chicago winter! We absolutely loved working with Brendan and Tyler to bring their dream wedding flowers to life. Together with them, we dreamt up wedding florals that were all about intention over excess—minimalist, sleek, and artistic with striking textures and color pops of burgundy, deep red, dusty terracotta, nude, toffee, and light peach. They got married at Walden Chicago in West Town, and it was so fun to brighten up the modern, industrial space with lush flowers. Take a look at their gorgeous photos by This Is Feeling and read more details about their wedding below!
How gorg is their wedding attire?! We loved their choice of going with two different jewel toned, velvet suits. The emerald green and ruby red looked so freakin’ good together! We added a little pizazz to their looks by providing them each with a boutonniere made of orange orchids.
Here’s a little sneak peek of their wedding ceremony backdrop! We took sharp tropical greenery and mixed it with soft, lush blooms - and added touches of gold metallic leaves for a hint of drama. Keep reading to see more pics of this showstopper!
We provided their fab wedding party with flowers, too. Everyone got a bouquet or a boutonniere to adorn their all-black attire. The groomsmaids got lush floral bouquets with an accent of tropical greenery, finished in black satin ribbon. The groomsmen wore dark red bloom and greenery boutonnieres finished in black raw silk with stems left exposed.
We love silly grooms 🤪
Here’s the full view of their ceremony backdrop you’ve been waiting for! We loved the lush, tropical vibes their gold moon arch added to the room.
After their “I do’s” came their cocktail hour, reception and dance party! We repurposed their ceremony arch behind their head table, and dressed up their dinner tables with vibey low centerpieces, red taper candles, and votives. We love how they left their wood tables exposed, and added color through the flowers and candles.
We loved the way the lights twinkled in the bowtruss vaulted ceiling. The space looked so industrial, tropical chic!
It was such a pleasure providing the floral and candle decor for your beautiful wedding, Tyler and Brendan! Congratulations again!
