Colorful Indian-American Wedding at Bridgeport Art Center

For Shreya & Austin’s wedding, the design centered on bold, joyful color and a deep sense of cultural connection. Inspired by her California-Indian roots and his Midwestern warmth, their celebration was a thoughtful blend of heritage, personality, and heartfelt hospitality.

With over 200 guests in attendance, the goal was to make the day feel less like a large-scale event and more like an intimate, flower-filled dinner party. Exuberant, seasonal blooms in shades of yellow, raspberry, orange, green, and soft pops of blue filled the space, setting a lively, welcoming tone that felt true to the couple’s spirit and love story. They held their joyous celebration at Bridgeport Art Center, and it was the perfect place to do so.

Intentional details brought the vision to life throughout the day. Each element was designed to feel meaningful, immersive, and celebratory, creating an atmosphere that was both vibrant and deeply personal. We created a vibrant bridal bouquet for Shreya, which included flowers like pink and orange zinnias, bright yellow craspedia, pink lisianthus, yellow and white feverfew. blue delphinium, orange dahlias and more. Austin and his attendant wore a single yellow ranunculus on their lapel- which gave them a nice pop of color against their black suits.

One of our favorite floral aspects we created for them was their colorful flower rangoli. It was made with flower heads and petals. It greeted guests at the entrance- what a way to start things off!

We were so lucky to work at Bridgeport Art Center a bunch last year. This setup had to be one of our favorites! We created a marigold-threaded ceremony arch with asymmetrical floral accents (which was later repurposed behind the dessert table). We also set 4 of their centerpieces on white pedestals at the entrance to the ceremony aisle (and they were later repurposes on their dinner tables).

After the kiss came the party!

For the dinner tables, we created two complementary styles that brought joy and celebration through vibrant pops of color. The first featured low white vessels designed in a loose, natural arrangement, paired with gold taper candles, coral tapers, and smokey votives for a warm, glowing tablescape. The second style brought in playful variety with a cluster of three taper candles surrounded by five bud vases filled with vibrant blooms, all accented by softly flickering votives. Bright yellow napkins tied everything together, adding a cheerful, sunlit touch that carried the color story throughout the reception.

The ceremony backdrop was repurposed behind the desert table to make everything look extra sweet!

Congratulations again, Shreya and Austin! It was an honor to contribute to your big day.
