Elegant, Timeless White Florals at Bridgeport Art Center

Every once in a while we’re part of a wedding that takes our breath away! Katie and Jared had a heartstopping, elegant soiree in honor of tying the knot this summer. They chose Bridgeport Art Center as their wedding venue, and it was a pretty perfect choice! Tucked into Chicago’s vibrant Bridgeport neighborhood, the Bridgeport Art Center — housed in the sprawling former Spiegel Catalog Warehouse — is a creative hub like no other. With soaring ceilings, exposed brick, natural light flooding through generous windows, it’s a raw-industrial canvas where artists, designers, and makers come together to work, exhibit, and connect. It has become a beloved wedding venue in the city and we absolutely love decking it out in flowers for these special occasions. We worked with the bride, groom, and their wedding planner - Amelia Cole Events - to bring their timeless, formal wedding to life. For the bride, we made a luscious, monochrome bouquet with flowers like white roses, ranunculus, spray roses, orlaya and stock, white dendros, and peonies. As a final touch, we wrapped the stems in ivory ribbon. The groom wore a white ranunculus boutonniere.

Their bridal party set the tone for the event, in their black tie attire. The ladies wore long, silky satin dresses in midnight blue. They carried white bouquets similar to the bride’s. We’re obsessed with these photos outside of the Art Institute of Chicago!

With the help of Art of Imagination, providing the sheer drapery and sparkling crystal chandeliers, Bridgeport Art Center turned into a dreamy setting to say their I Do’s. We created three arrangements to add to their ceremony backdrop - all on pedestals of varying heights. Two more of these elegant, white arrangements were added to the aisle entrance. We also provided lots of hurricane candles of varying heights to add that romantic candle light.

Can we talk about this lighting?! Truly heavenly…

After the heartfelt ceremony came the cocktail hour and party! Some pops of light blue were incorporated into the flowers and decor post-ceremony. We provided a medium sized floral arrangement in white with pops of blue for the bar. The cocktail hour space looked awesome with those cool blue linens! Instead of traditional escort cards, they had a large mirror with table assignments hanging via blue wax seals. We added some florals to the bottom of it.

As for the dinner tables, we added light blue taper candles held in gold candleholders for some more color and visual interest. We love the way they looked, especially with the green and blue water goblets. Each dinner table held low, white floral centerpieces.

Congratulations again, Katie and Jared! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together.
